Objections to Traffic Order - Bamford Road, Heywood Hall Road, and Queens Park Road, Heywood pdf icon PDF 2 MB

For the Township to consider a report on traffic order report.

    Minutes:

Members were provided with a report that proposed extensions to of some “No Waiting At Any Time” restrictions at the Bamford Road and Heywood Hall Road junction in Heywood. It was noted that the Council advertised the proposal and had received three objections and a petition.

The report provided the Committee an explanation and background to the proposal as well the comments made by the objectors to assist the Committee in coming to a decision whether they implement the decision, and to what extent the Order may be introduced.

Members considered the proposed Traffic Order and acknowledged the parking concerns of those residents who had objected with Members sympathising with their concerns. However Members agreed unanimously that for safety reasons the Order was in the public interest and should be put in place.

    RESOLVED

    1)    That the Committee approve the proposed Traffic Regulation Order, Borough of Rochdale ((Civil Enforcement of Traffic Contraventions) (Various Streets) (Heywood Township) Order 2008) (Amendment) (No.53) Order as advertised.

    2)    That the Order be introduced to address parking issues which obstruct the junction visibility where Bamford Road meets Heywood Hall Road.

    3)    That the Order be introduced to cover the short section of Queens Park Road which is part of the same proposed Order and did not receive any objections when advertised.
