Construction of a new HGV and trailer parking area including the erection of an amenity building with associated CCTV and floodlighting to north east facing elevation of site; together with the construction of new sprinkler water storage tank and pump house to east facing elevation including new site pedestrian pathway at Vitafoam, Soudan Street, Middleton

Minutes:

The Director of Economy introduced planning application 16/00626/FUL for the construction of a new HGV and trailer parking area including the erection of an amenity building with associated CCTV and floodlighting to north east facing elevation of site; together with the construction of new sprinkler water storage tank and pump house to east facing elevation including new site pedestrian pathway at Vitafoam, Soudan Street, Middleton.

 

The Director of Economy informed the Sub-Committee that further to the submitted report an informative note had not been received from the Environment Agency in relation to the site.

 

The Sub-Committee considered the views of the applicant Mr B. Curry, who addressed the Sub-Committee in relation to the application.

 

DECIDED – That subject to the satisfactory acceptance of an Environment Agency informative note relating to the site, planning permission be approved subject to conditions as detailed within the submitted report.

Erection of five dwellings on land to the rear of Kenyon Lane, Middleton

Minutes:

The Director of Economy introduced planning application 15/01319/FUL for the erection of five dwellings on land to the rear of Kenyon Lane, Middleton.

 

The Sub-Committee considered the views of a resident of Kenyon Lane who addressed the Sub-Committee objecting to the application. 

 

The Sub-Committee considered the views of Mr C. Tate, the applicant, who addressed the Sub-Committee in relation to the application. 

 

In considering the application Members of the Sub-Committee sought clarification in relation to the impact of the development on the amenity of residents of Kenyon Street.  Members requested further information with regard to the impact on the surrounding highway network not of the proposed development, but of the loss of garages and existing parking space.  Members sought clarification on comments from the Highways and Engineering Team within the submitted report and questioned whether they had included the impact on cars currently parking on Rose Street and Lily Street for the purposes of accessing the nearby School and Bowling Clubs within their assessment.

 

DECIDED – That the application be deferred to a future meeting of the Sub-Committee for further information in relation to the potential impact on the local highway and allow for further consultation between the applicant and residents on Kenyon Lane as to the impact of the proposed development.
