Introductions and Apologies

    Minutes:

    Councillor Nickson chaired the meeting and welcomed all to the meeting. It was explained that the Group had an allocation of £20000 for financial year 2017/18 and that four meetings have been arranged – 9 August, 18 October, 20 December and 21 February.

     

    Apologies had been received from Councillors Rashid, Ahmed, Daalat Ali, Wazir and Zaheer.

     

    Councillors Sultan Ali and Zaman were attending the meeting in their role as substitutes.

    Minutes:

    The terms of reference for the Group were agreed subject to two changes.

     

    1.    It was agreed that the maximum amount of financial support that each application could be awarded be limited to £1500.

     

    2.    Applicants will be required to attend the meeting of the Rochdale Township Communities and Engagement Priority Group considering their grant application to respond to questions to aid the decision making process. Failure to attend the meeting will result in the application being deferred.

    The Group agreed to support this application to the value of £800.

    The Group agreed to support this application to the value of £1250.

    The Group agreed to support this application to the value of £800

     

    CE/04/17 – VINTAGE WORX COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT TRUST – AROUND THE WORLD INTERNATIONAL FOOD FESTIVAL – APPLIED FOR £1212

     

    The Group agreed to support this application to the value of £850.

     

    Councillor Cocks declared an interest in this application and did not take part in the decision making process.

     

    CE/05/17 – VINTAGE WORX COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT TRUST – IT’S A KNOCKOUT COMMUNITY CHALLENGE 2017 – APPLIED FOR £2500

     

    The Group refused this application.

     

    CE/06/17 – MULTICULTURAL RESOURCE CENTRE – WOMEN OF FREEDOM – APPLIED FOR £1200

     

    The Group agreed to support this application to the value of £650.
