Consideration was given to a report of the Cabinet Member for Climate Change and Environment / Director of Neighbourhoods that sought approval to extend and retender food supply contracts.

Alternatives Considered: Not to approve the retendering of the food supply contracts – this option was not recommended, as it would mean Fresh Kitchen were:

• Procuring food supplies through contracts that had either expired or were due to expire, no longer fit for purpose and potentially place the Council at significant risk.

• No longer able to produce healthy, nutritional meals for over 35 schools that it had Service Level Agreements with.
