Minutes: Consideration was given to a report of the Cabinet Member for Economy and Communication which detailed work undertaken to meet the requirements of Greater Manchester Authorities to collectively develop, approve and implement a common set of minimum licensing standards (MLS) for taxi and private hire services.
Alternatives considered No alternatives were considered as Members supported the proposals to ensure public safety and protection.
RESOLVED 1. That the detail be noted of and reasons for the proposed standards for licensed drivers, licensed private hire operators and local authorities. 2. That the consultation responses received at both GM and Rochdale level, be noted. 3. That the comments and considerations for each standard in response to the consultation responses received be noted. 4. That the Planning and Licensing Committee advises Cabinet to approve the recommendations for each of the standards for licensed drivers, licensed private hire operators and local authorities. 5. That the Planning and Licensing Committee advises Cabinet to approve the implementation of the standards for licensed drivers, licensed private hire operators and local authorities with a go live date of 1 December 2021. |
