Consideration was given to a report of the Cabinet Member for Housing and Highways / Director of Neighbourhoods which sought approval for the 2022/23 and 2023/24 of the two year local transport plan (LTP) funded capital programme; and the 2 year bridges and structures capital maintenance programme.

Members were informed that additional funding for resurfacing had been announced and that additional roads for inclusion should be sent directly to the Highways Manager.

Alternatives considered

The programme has been developed according to Department for Transport guidance and in line with other Greater Manchester Authorities.  Any amendments would be as a result of the grading undertaken to determine priorities.

RESOLVED

1.    That the local transport plan funded capital programme be approved for 2022/23 and 2023/24.

2.    That the bridges and structures capital maintenance programme be approved for 2022/23 and 2023/24.

Reason for resolution

The schemes that have been selected have been put together based on the principles of asset management which use network condition data, engineer inspections, life cycle planning and cost efficiency to produce the most efficient highway improvement over the course of the programmes.
